Service commitments must be at a practice site approved by TCWD. Residency Incentive recipients are asked to complete our
Practice Site Approval Form for sites they are considering for their service commitment. All FQHCs, free/charitable clinics, critical access hospitals, and state mental health institutes are automatically eligible. During the approved service commitment, recipients of this award are asked to complete quarterly reports. Missing reports will result in stopped payments and failure to submit reports will result in agreement termination and incentive repayment.
TCWD does not stipulate how you spend the incentive money. You could use the incentive for student loans, car expenses, living expenses, etc. Incentive payments are distributed quarterly in January, April, July, and October in the amount of $8,750. Recipients will continue to receive quarterly payments until the incentive award maximum has been reached. Please remember this is taxable income, so keeping your W-9 updated with your current home address is important and a 1099 tax form will be mailed to you each year for your tax purposes.
